Privacy statement

Use of our Platforms means some of your personal data will be collected. In the following pages we explain the type of data we refer to and how it is used. We think it is important to process your data carefully and safely and in accordance with the requirements outlined in the Dutch Personal Data Protection Act. The KNHB is responsible for the processing of the personal data. This privacy statement applies to any Platform owned by the KNHB. The KNHB is not responsible for the privacy policy of other websites or (online) resources mentioned on our Platforms.

Hockey club membership

If you are a member of a hockey club the KNHB will already be in possession of some of your personal details, such as your name, address, age and email address. The KNHB links this data to a membership number. This number is only used by the KNHB and your hockey club for administrative and organisational purposes. Your data is kept safe and is used responsibly in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act.


We only collect or use your personal data for the uses described in this privacy statement.

  1. To create an account if needed for the platform

In order to use certain features of our Platforms, you are required to create an account. After you have done so your personal data will be kept so that with every log-in you will be presented with a personalised round-up of the latest news and an overview of games and competitions (via You will also have the possibility to leave comments.

In order to create an account we ask you to provide the following data:

  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • Membership number
  • Email address
  • Photo (optional)

If you are a member of a hockey club part of this data will already be known to the KNHB. When creating an account it is possible to use a name or e-mail address different from the one already registered with the KNHB. These will not be changed in the KNHB membership administration, however.

  1. Newsletter

Our newsletter will keep you abreast of all hockey news. If you subscribe to the newsletter your email address will be automatically added to the distribution list. Every newsletter contains a link by which you can cancel your subscription.

Third parties

In order to manage our Platforms we use the services of third parties. In some instances these parties may have access to your personal data. When this happens we will take appropriate measures to ensure your data is sufficiently protected and is only used for the purposes it was intended for. The KNHB will under no circumstances sell your data or share it with third parties.


The KNHB has measures in place to protect your data from unauthorised use. Your data will be sent via secure internet connections. Third parties involved in the management and development of our Platforms are under a contractual obligation to respect the confidentiality of your data.


Cookies are small text files which are stored on a pc, tablet or mobile phone as a result of visiting a web page. You can find more information about the cookies used on our Platforms in the cookie statement.

Accessing, changing and removing personal data

You have the right to access the data stored by the KNHB at any time. You are also free to request a change to your data, or to have it removed entirely.
